Sweden: passenger makes mess on plane to prevent Afghan’s expulsion

A young Swede, Elin Ersson, has managed to prevent the expulsion of a 52-year-old man to Afghanistan with an action “just as courageous as simple,” local media reported.

She was aboard an airliner flying from Gothenburg to Istanbul but she refused to sit down and started a Facebook Live to share her situation. While animating her show on Facebook, she tried to influence the other passengers and especially the pilot, saying that ’in Afghanistan, it’s war and this man is facing his death, it is not necessary that this plane takes off’.

Some passengers and flight attendants constantly asked him to turn off his camera and even tried to take the phone out of his hands. Eventually, the Afghan was disembarked from the plane and his deportation was canceled by the local authorities.
