Italy: Extreme left explodes outside Salvini’s League headquarters

According to Interior Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini, reported on Twitter on August 16 that a homemade bomb reportedly exploded outside the party headquarters in Villorba (Treviso, Veneto region) without causing any injuries.

Another, which did not explode, was also found. ‘They are trying to stop us, but violence and delinquency do not scare us,’ said the minister. According to the regional newspaper Corriere del Veneto, which reported the information, the incident allegedly occurred ‘probably Sunday 12 [August]’ and nobody was injured.

A second bomb was defused. The Corriere del Veneto states that the police have intercepted a message of claim from an anarchist group on the Internet. Its authenticity is under investigation.
