Italy: A 22-year-old Algerian, recently expelled from France, drives into Pompeii’s cathedral to “feel closer to Allah”

Othman Jridi, a 22-year-old Algerian who was recently expelled from France, terrified pilgrims at the Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii as he drove at full speed into the pedestrian zone, stopping suddenly at the concrete blocks that had only recently been installed to stop a possible terrorist attack.

During the resulting hearing, he said he “did not know why he had done this, except to feel closer to Allah.”
