Events like the latest terrorist attack in France highlight the importance of security, Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian foreign minister, said on Friday.
According to press reports, an attacker of Moroccan descent killed three and wounded two at a supermarket in Trebes, in southern France, on Friday. The French police stormed the building and killed the perpetrator, who was known for his radical leanings.
Szijjarto told a press conference that Europe has to be made safe again. Restoring security on the continent should be a top priority, he said.
Szijjarto said that Hungary stands by France’s side in its fight against terrorism.
“We will protect Hungary and Hungarians against terrorism and attacks like this,”
the minister said.
