The chaplain of the French Catholic Parish of Berlin was murdered last Thursday by a Cameroonian whom he had helped in his church.
The alleged killer is a 26-year-old Cameroonian, who was placed in a psychiatric institution.
The death of the priest, 54-year-old Alain-Florent Gandoulou, was announced by the French Catholic Communities in the world on their Facebook page.
The police discovered his body after a phone call Thursday night reporting a violent dispute between two men speaking in French. According to the Berlin public radio station Rbb, the altercation took place in the priest’s office.
