Tensions grew in Florence on Monday following the murder of a Senegalese merchant by a suicidal Italian, which provoked anger and vandalism throughout the city.

A group of about 100 Senegalese marched through the city center while a meeting of community representatives was taking place in the Palazzo Vecchio.
