The town Dachau has made the rather decision to house migrants in the former concentration camp.
In a decision that arguably is in quite poor taste, Dachau authorities have been allowed to accommodate migrants in the former concentration camp.
The refugees are staying in the ‘herb garden’, located across the road from the main concentration camp.
The mayor of Dachau, Florian Hartmann, defended his decision on German radio. He explained that the town cannot provide high quality shelter in light of the increasing number of refugees. Hartmann said that it is a balancing act, as he cannot let people sleep on the streets. A roof over their heads is better than nothing.
