Belgium: A police chase involving migrants ended in the death of a 3-year-old child; the victim was displayed in the window to keep the police away

The police pursued a van full of migrants on the E42 in the Namur region, near Mons, on Wednesday evening. During the chase, a three-year-old child was held up and displayed in one of the windows in an attempt to keep the police away, according to the initial report.

During the pursuit, the van collided with another vehicle at the Maisières car park, after which all of those in the van were arrested. Tragically, however, the three-year-old was dead. The reason and circumstances behind his death are still unknown. The police involved reported that the child was alive when they saw him through the window.
